This Triumph TR7 was recently imported from California, where it had been with the same owner since 1986. It is presented as an honest and largely original example.
The body is in very solid condition, with no signs of rust or past damage. Finished in its original Platinum Silver Metallic (paint code MCA) with RAH trim, the car still retains its original decals and aluminium wheels. The paint has a good shine and the overall presentation is very appealing. Some minor flaws and touch ups are visible upon closer look, as is to be expected from a 46 year old original classic car.
This is a fuel-injected model equipped with a 5 speed gearbox and factory air conditioning. The car runs and drives and offers a solid base for further use. It is advisable to carry out a light recommissioning service check before regular use. The steering column requires attention, likely related to worn rubber mounting bushes. The oil dipstick tube should be replaced and the dust covers on the steering box are aged. The starter motor occasionally shows a slipping or poorly engaging bendix.
The interior appears to be original and shows light signs of use consistent with age. The odometer currently reads 11.789 miles, of which the previous owner indicated it to be 111.789. Supporting documentation includes factory manuals and an older tyre invoice from the 1990s. One set of keys.
Overall, this is a well-presented and original TR7 convertible with an honest character, suitable as a usable classic with some light mechanical attention. A good opportunity to acquire a solid California car without the need for major restoration work.
