The Mercedes-Benz W124 has become a beloved classic that is celebrated for its exceptional build quality, reliability and timeless design. This particular 300E, which came to us as a trade-in car, is a project car in need of cosmetic work and a thorough service upgrade.
After a life in Switzerland, the Mercedes was first registered in the Netherlands in 2012. In 2019, the car was put into storage and the APK technical inspection expired.
The car runs and drives, but needs to be taken care of technically and optically. Starting with a service and complete brake overhaul. Furthermore, there are several things to replace: steering ball sleeves, knuckle ball sleeves, exhaust suspension rubbers, timing belt, valve cover gasket and probably the front camshaft seal.
Odometer reading 222,065 km. Apart from the last service ticket, the service history is unknown.
The body is generally solid, but needs some attention in typical weak spots. There is welding to be done on the rear of the right sill (inside the rear wheel arch). Also, the wheel well edges have some blistering and there are visible scratches, stone chips and small dents. The dark blue paint was cleaned and lightly polished, and can be turned into a representative driver quality finish after some further touch up work.
The interior is in decent original condition, with normal traces of use. Attention should be given to the dashboard top, which shows cracks. Also, at the top of the door cards the blue vinyl is coming loose. A new dashboard and a set of interior door panels is included.
A practical enthusiast can turn this into a very neat W124 six-cylinder that will last for years.
Price: € 2900
