This classic Spider was built in 1977 and first registered in 1978 in the United States. Originally finished in silver, it was repainted in red many years ago. The car came to the Netherlands with its original California title and has since been carefully checked and prepared for road use by an enthusiast.
Current mileage is 101.873. Extensive work has already been carried out, including:
- full service and tune-up,
- conversion to twin Dell’Orto carburettors,
- brake system overhaul,
- new clutch hydraulics,
- suspension work,
- rust repair and underbody conservation,
- conversion to slim European bumpers instead of the original U.S. type.
The car will be delivered with Dutch registration and fresh APK technical inspection.
Cosmetically, this Spider still offers room for improvement. The body requires a complete repaint, the interior could use some detailing, and the plastic rear window in the soft top needs replacement. Technically the car is roadworthy, but the tyres are aged and the rev counter is inoperative. As with many Spiders of this generation, the gearbox synchromesh between third and second gear is worn – it will crunch if shifted down too quickly, yet remains very usable when driven with care.
A solid, largely rust-free example with sound mechanics – an ideal driving restoration or affordable entry into classic Alfa Romeo ownership.
Price: € 9.900
