1973 MG MGB roadster

This orange MGB was imported from Virginia, USA. Originally a blue car, it was subsequently repainted in maroon and its current orange. It should be considered a project car in need of some body work, a full respray and a technical check up.

The paint finish is of inferior quality and should be redone completely. Repair work is visible on the rear dogleg areas and lower front fenders. The right hand sill panel was replaced, but not properly welded at the lower edge. Some smaller patch work is needed, especially at the left rear fender. Luckily, most of the body structure is in sound condition.

The engine is in running condition, with good oil pressure. A Weber carburetor conversion was recently completed, which will need final adjustment. Fuel is old, pointing to a period of inactivity. A technical inspection sticker dating back to 2005 is visible on the windscreen. Mileage sits at 95.066.

Other than the carburetor, some more new parts are visible: brake calipers and hoses, master brake and clutch cylinder, fuel pump and convertible top. The clutch slave cylinder is leaking; hence the car is not currently driveable. The exhaust is missing. This MG has the desirable overdrive transmission. For purists: a rebuildable set of SU carburettors with intake manifold is available at extra costs.

On the inside, some more work is needed. The interior is in fair original condition, but would need new carpets, left hand door panels and a few other things such as weather seals and sunvisors.

A nice project MGB that could easily be brought to a higher standard.
