This 1973 Jensen Healey was imported from Washington State and previously registered in Oregon. A solid, rust-free survivor in largely original condition, offering a great foundation for a light restoration or recommissioning.
The body is straight and retains its original panels, with no visible signs of prior accident damage. It was repainted once in its original red colour using an older synthetic paint system. This paint is now peeling in several areas and will need to be stripped for a quality respray. There are a few minor dents, but no structural issues.
Mechanically, the car is currently not running. Further diagnosis has shown engine damage: one valve has dropped and has visibly marked the top of the piston. Compression is good on the other three cylinders, but there is no compression on the affected cylinder. The engine will therefore require at least cylinder head removal and further inspection, and should be considered in need of major engine repair or rebuild.
The engine bay shows signs of good maintenance. The car has been upgraded with a pair of Dellorto carburettors. 4 speed gearbox, shifts through all gears. 86.997 mls visible on the odometre.
The interior is in good, well-preserved condition with relatively new carpets. The black vinyl convertible top needs replacement. The car sits on a set of 4 Minilite-style wheels with good tyres, and comes with the original set of 4 factory alloy wheels.
