1966 Austin Healey Sprite blue

This 1966 Austin Healey Sprite is a highly original survivor, ready for a straightforward restoration.

With a light blue paint job full of cracks and wear, the car’s body tub is honest and solid. Visible rust damage is limited to the battery tray, the front edge of the bonnet and the lower rear quarter panels. The underneath of the floor boards has been kept remarkably well, with dried out underbody coating revealing nothing but factory blue paint.

The interior is also highly original and will need to be refurbished. Below the black vinyl seat covers, the original blue seat upholstery is still present. The ignition key is missing and the bakelite steering wheel rim is damaged.

The engine turns freely by hand, with clean oil and an overall unmolested impression. We have not attempted to start the car; the cooling system is disconnected and hoses are decades old.

Last registered in 1985, we believe the mileage of 79.651 to be original. 64.320 mls is stated on the 1980 Louisiana title. We also posess an older 1973 title with an odometre listing of 53.225. Last of the surviving historical documentation are a pair of parts bills from the late 1970’s.

A lovely and simple car to restore, this little Sprite will please practical british car enthusiasts.
