Austin-Healey Sprite Mk1 Frogeye. This car is currently being finished in our workshop, to an excellent driver quality level. We brought the car back to its factory original colour combination of Old English White, with a black interior.
Originally from the USA, this car was imported in Belgium and completely disassembled for restoration. The body structure has been stripped, with all rust removed and repaired. It was then primed, painted and assembled with new and rebuilt parts.
We acquired the car as an unfinished project with an amateur paint job in Primrose Yellow. It was decided to completely dismantle the car again, and strip the body back to bare metal. The panels have been straigtened and a professional 2K paint system was applied
Technically, everything was either replaced or rebuilt. Rebuilt engine (1275 cc), carburettors, new fuel pump, fuel tank, electronic ignition, wiring loom, suspension bushes, brakes, rebuilt rear axle. Too many new parts to list. The gearbox is a later type ribbed box from a Sprite Mk2.
The car will be restored to a high quality driver standard. Not 100% correct if you judge it by concours standards, because of the engine and gearbox upgrade and the fact that it has straight floor panels instead of ribbed ones. This will be a car to use and enjoy, not a trailer queen.
